Your hosts:  Mike and Brenda Neville

Our goal is to provide our guests with a unique experience where they can enjoy the total privacy of a secluded country setting, in their own cabin, while still having someone nearby to answer all of their needs.  While both the office and our cabin are located far enough away to offer our guests their privacy, we are close enough to assure a pleasant stay. 

Mike is originally from Salem, MA.  He retired from the local school district in June of 2006, after teaching there for thirty-two years.  He is an avid outdoorsman; and he spends much of his time hunting and fishing, when he’s not taking care of buildings and grounds for Mill Creek.

Brenda is a life-long resident of the area.  Her background is in natural resources conservation.  She has worked with both the U.S. Forest Service and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.  She has extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna, as well as an intimate knowledge of the entire Finger Lakes National Forest.  She has also worked at several of the area’s finest inns and restaurants, bringing her hospitality experience to the operation of Mill Creek.

The painting on Mill Creek’s home page was done by Brenda’s great-grandmother, Nellie Graves Hancy, in 1928, when she was 70 years old.  Nellie and her husband, William, lived nearby in Hayts Corners.  The actual location of the mill represented in the painting is unknown, though at one time there were 15 mills operating on Mill Creek between here and Seneca Lake.

In addition to our two "Labrasomethings" and our Weimaraner, we also have two Ragdoll cats.  If you decide to purchase a pure breed dog or cat, rather than adopting from a shelter or a breed rescue organization, we encourage you to establish a relationship with a responsible breeder.  Responsible breeders do not sell to pet stores.  Take the time to research breeds to determine which breed will best fit in with your family and lifestyle.  A responsible breeder will then work with you to determine the best individual for your needs.  Educating yourself as much as possible before you make a decision will help to ensure that your animal becomes a lifelong companion.  Let's work together to put an end to all puppy and kitten mills, and to reduce the number of animals who end up in shelters.  For more information on Ragdolls visit:
