Opening: 

Hospitality Internship / Experiential Learning at Glamping Cabins in the Finger Lakes

Weekly duties are:

-Customer service - checking email daily and answering guest questions

-Creating the breakfast schedule

-Social media management - you’ll manage the Facebook and Instagram page, including ad management (there will be a budget for you to spend!)

-Marketing and/or Management project, working directly with the owner. To be determined at the beginning of the internship and final presentation delivered to the whole staff at the end of the internship. Topics could be on email marketing, planning new construction, writing a business plan, real estate investment, operating procedures, etc.

-Cleaning duties will be required, and paid directly based on the schedule. Participation in cleaning is to ensure the intern is able to sufficiently answer customer inquiries. There will be a minimum of two cleanings per week, with more available based on interest and schedule.

Who the intern can expect to learn from:

The intern will report directly to the manager of the property, Rebecca. Rebecca has a degree in hospitality management and has managed restaurants, and now manages the hotel. Rebecca will be your day to day supervisor. She will train you on how to manage the property and help you learn day to day hospitality management.

The intern will also have exposure to the owner, Sara. Sara has an MBA from the University of Chicago and is a marketing expert, helping Fortune 500 companies with brand challenges and innovating new products. The intern will work directly with Sara on a marketing project, to be determined in the first month and delivered at the end of the project.

Qualities we expect from an intern:

We are looking for a hard-working, positive, flexible, honest, friendly, detail-oriented individual to join our team. You must be comfortable working with the public, and comfortable around dogs! (We welcome dogs on the property).

Preferred Skills:

Interest in hospitality management

Knowledge of Google Suite, i.e. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides (not required, we will teach)

Understanding of social media marketing (not required, we will teach)

Ability and willingness to clean!
